so what do people think is best shampoo(s)? I've used Nano, Nizoral 2%, Revita, and Folligen... I'm trying to find something new and hopefully better - there's been some threads discussing stuff in the pipeline, but what would everyone/anyone highly recommend NOW. Dr. Lee stuff? Apple Poly shampoo? Other?
PLEASE ADVISE...

There are some pretty cool shampoos in Japan. GUSH shampoo is one of them. Another is Adenosine Shampoo by Shiseido, also a good one. But I don't think any shampoo will grow hair. Maybe help with fall out but not regrow hair. That's just my opinion, and it could be totally wrong..

My two favorites are both by Aubrey organics. Men's stock ginseng shampoo and J.A.Y. (jojoba oil, aloe, yucca) I do JAY in the morning and the men's stock at night or after exercise since it cleans better.

I've been using Nioxin for years but I think Laserfish is right that good shampoos maintain what you have. I just started 1% Nizoral 3 times a week, we'll see what happens. I've used Avalon organics, also really good stuff.

Hey guys, while I have you guys on the topic of shampoo.. I've been using DS Lab's Revita for over a year and it has Definatly helped maintain what I have, honest! I only realized that until I stopped using it about 2 months ago and lot a SHITLOAD of ground up top. huge kick to the pants, only if I f'n knew. Anyway, so I've gone and ordered it again, hopefully those hairs are still there and will bloom back, crossing fingers. Anyway, i got my shipment in and I noticed the bottle has changed slightly, like instead of the rounded gray bottom (like in all the pictures all over the internet) its now flat and has an orange cap. I know the top dispenser is orange as well but that's not what I'm talking about. Anyway, its either I've been sent an old revision of the shampoo or Revita has changed the bottle, can anybody confirm this? please and thanks because I want to send it back if I'm getting shafted. More Importantly, I've noticed when I pour the shampoo into my hands it is WAY more liquidy and runny then it was before (kinda viscous..like shampoo should be). The package/box said it expires on 07/2011 so that seems pretty good but I'm concerned they might have swapped packaging from an old revision..however it didn't look that way when i opened it. Has anybody else ordered it recently?? Can they confirm that the new bottles have this new flat orange capped bottom and the shampoo is slightly more watery.
I would REALLY appreciate somebody helping me out here, and if you have any questions about the stuff please don't hesitate to ask. Give and take Regards

Hey CooperDooper, I just ordered Revita but havent received it yet. I will chime in and let you know how the bottle looks. As for your experience, did you use it as directed? i.e two times per day x 5 days a week? Or did you alternate?

Wookin, I'd appreciate that. Where abouts did you order yours from? I received mine from iHealthTree. Their price isnt too bad but I think I'll order from Amazon next time. I used it as my main shampoo, once or twice a day and almost every day of the week. I did alternate once or twice in the week with Nizoral. That's the thing I liked about revita..it was a good, almost every day shampoo. But now it seems theres something up with the latest batch of the stuff. Its definitely different then what it used to be a little while ago.
Any other users have any comments?

Thanks CD. Its expensive to use every day ouch. well I ordered mine from ebay since I cant order from Amazon as I live in Canada. So i only had ebay as an option. Hopefully I get a legit batch! I will keep you posted for sure. I also use Nioxin, and really like it. But i have a friend thats a hairstylist at a salon and gets it pretty cheap. Otherwise I dont think Id pay full cost for it.

Have not used Revita in a while, but when I did thought it was good shampoo and a good adjunct to hairloss/regrowth treatment.
That said, DS Labs who make Revita and Spectral DNC, seem to keep changing their formulations. I used Spectral DNC for the better part of 2 years and found that it was hard to know what the formula was going to be like from one order to the next, because they kept changing the stuff. Seems that's the same case with Revita!

lol Oh man, nope that doesn't help me. But thank you very much for checking that. If you don't mind me asking what is the batch number on the bottom of the box. It should start with a 9 and have six digits, and the expiration date?
Also, which E-bay store did you get yours from, it sounds like you got the good stuff
Cheers man, thanks again.

Alright, this is ridiculous ...I have the exact same batch number...but with different bottles. Whatever, Im going to use the stuff and hope for the best. I contacted Revita and this lady I talked to reassured me that this batch DID have a different ingredient quantity mixture then before which explained the watery consistency however she said the changes were made for the best, to improve the effects of the shampoo...Well we'll see. Let you all know how things turn out in the future.
Thanks wookin, appreciate your time. Hope you like the shampoo.

I checked the ingredients in Revita, and it says caffeine and adenosine, and when doing a seach on both, I came accross the following: "Adenosine stimulates and caffeine blocks all classes of adenosine receptors nonselectively. The general effect of adenosine in the brain is to inhibit neural activity, whereas the general effect of caffeine is to increase neural activity." If they are antagonistic to each other, then they would cancel out the effect in the shampoo, no? Can someone explain the reason for having both in the same shampoo?
thks

That's antagonistic for neural activity. That means nothing in terms of growing hair, which is not a neural process whatsoever. Just because two things are antagonistic in one way, does not mean they won't work together in other ways. They could even work synergistically for hair. "Don't be afraid to see what you see. "

It's like choosing a Ferrari over an AC Cobra. Personal choice. Having used both, the 2 are decent shampoos. Alpecin is a 1/3 of the price and does the job for me. Try both if you can afford it. Most people would spend more cash on beer in a week (in UK anyway lol) than 1 x Revita & 1 x Alpecin, so why not get both...

I would also say use a good "natural" ingredient shampoo / conditioner in between times. I use "Aubrey Organics" ginseng & biotin shampoo & conditioner. It's so good I use it on my kids hair too...

what about piroctane olamine shampoo and aqua glycolic shampoo? aqua glycolic shampoo is listed under the products/treatments section of the site, but that area doesn't seem up to date (nizoral not even listed).
I still havent found any compelling evidence or recommendations to help choose a new shampoo to add...

I've tried so gosh danged many shampoos that are supposed to help stop hair loss, but I don't think any shampoo is going to do much... however, some shampoos DO leave my hair looking thicker and fuller and my favorites in that regard are REVITA and NIZORAL 2%... they both leave my hair looking much better and thinker than other shampoos but the Nizoral will fry the hair if used too often.

I think my hair got thinner ... tho I take proscar too hey goten574 what about the avalon shampoo ... it is very cheap and user feedback is very high on drugstore.com and amazon.com it contains saw plameto .... I had NuHair with saw plameto for less than a month .... I felt so depressed and stopped immediately
