Policy on User Generated Content by Hairloss Companies

This document will outline the policy covering postings of user generated content (UGC) on Regrowth.com by any company, employee or person with a financial interest in a commercial hairloss product. User generated content includes posts within the forums, private messages, member profiles and member posted content such as articles -- anything an individual member may post on this site that another user will see.

Claims of Effectiveness by Companies

Companies may not claim effectiveness for hair regrowth on our site in the same manner that they may not make claims in commercial advertising elsewhere. Effectiveness claims may only be made when backed up by double-blind, placebo controlled studies. Any claim regarding hair growth or hairloss prevention which can not be substantiated by the company based on scientific verification may not be made. If scientific evidence is not available, companies are limited to discussing proper use of their products, but not effectiveness.

Forums Posts

Commercial solicitations by non-adverisers are forbidden within the forums. A commercial solicitation is any original post or unrelated message with the express and primary intent of promoting the company or product. This includes all new threads that include links to a site or any promotion. What is allowed? We allow companies to respond to posts by Regrowth.com members to questions regarding their product. Companies may also post clinical studies on their products conducted by independent laboratories or 3rd parties. Companies may also recommend to their customers to come to Regrowth.com to post testimonials regarding their product as long as the person is not affiliated with the company in any way and is not receiving compensation of any kind for their testimonial. Companies that are paying sponsors of the site may post an original thread in the forums once per week to discuss their product -- such posts must follow the overall policy of the site in terms of claims.

Discussion of another company's products by a commercial member is not allowed. If you sell a product, you have an inherent conflict of interest when discussing another company's competing products. Keep any comments in your posts related to your products only or hair loss in general, not other companyies' products.

WARNING: Creation of a fake testimonial or question within the thread by a company in order to allow a response will result in an immediate suspension by the site that may be permanent.

Forums Signatures

Commercial companies may not post links or other company information within their forum signature.

User Posted Articles

Companies may not post articles to our content system unless they are based on scientific evidence in the form of clinical studies as described in the claims section.

Member Profiles

Companies may make promotional postings within their own blog on their own member profile. Posting of graphical advertisements is prohibited. Any posts made to a member profile, although promotion is allowed, must still follow the sites policy on claims of effectiveness. Companies may not post links to their blog elsewhere within the site except where otherwise specified.

Private Messaging

Companies may not use private messages to make commercial solicitations. They may respond to questions by users at any time but claims of effectiveness (see above) must follow the site policy.
